Frequently Asked Questions
I’m sure you know, as a real estate agent, I encounter quite a few questions every day. People are naturally curious, and it’s my job to guide folks through the often-complex world of home buying and selling.
You might also imagine that some questions about real estate come up more often than others. Whether you’re a first time buyer or repeat buyer who could use a refresher on how deals get done, here’s are some answers to the questions that come up most often.
How familiar are you with Knoxville and it’s surrounding areas?
I went to high school in Gatlinburg, college at University of Tennessee, and have settled in the Farragut area. I have worked in areas from Cleveland to Dandridge.
Can you help me if I’m selling or buying out-of-state?
I’ve established a great network of agents in all 50 states. I’m happy to find an agent that best suits your needs, and I’m always just a phone call away for any tips or questions. Call me at 865-742-5600.
What is the first step of the home buying process?
The first step in the home buying process is getting pre-approved for a mortgage. This involves contacting one of my many trusted lenders to determine the purchase price options of your home. This step is important because it:
- Gives you an idea of your budget
- Shows sellers you’re a serious buyer
- Helps you understand your financial options
- Saves time by avoiding looking at homes outside your price range
How long will it take to sell my home?
The length of time it takes to sell a home in our current market conditions can vary depending on several factors, including the home’s price, condition, location, and the overall demand in the area.
To give you a better idea, I’d be happy to provide a complimentary market analysis of your home, taking into account its unique features, recent sales data, and market conditions after viewing your home. This will give us a more accurate estimate of the time it may take to sell your home.
Will I make more money selling my house without a real estate agent?
A 2023 NAR study found that for-sale-by-owner homes can sell for about 24% less than those listed with licensed real estate agents – meaning these sellers lost out on money even after saving on agent fees.
What is your marketing strategy for selling homes?
I have found social media to be the best marketing strategy when selling homes. Marketing in areas where people are moving from most as well as locally. I also work with a large network of great agents who I share information about your property to quickly find a buyer.
What brokerage do you work with?
I work with the largest brokerage in the Knoxville area, Realty Executive Associates. Having access to our nearly 1000 agents often allows me to find properties off market or having buyers lined up prior to your home hitting the market.
Do you work with rental properties?
I don’t directly work with rental properties but can lead you in the direction of many listings you won’t find on sites like Zillow and Redfin. So, don’t hesitate to reach out!
